The most valuable domain for presidential marketing is one most of the candidates would never consider. For the same reason they can't phathom how Obama is beating their ass. Because they don't get the net and HE does. In simple english- the masses are not watching Fox news spin, they are learning the truth about the world without the government spin. Obama stands for change and also delivers it, because his supporters are experiencing it together with him all the result of shared experiences online and off (kind of like Traffic).
Obama for change is Obama for America.
Only ONE domain says both in a way ONLY Obama can seize... America.com
It just so happens it's up for auction. Only for the second time in history. Both at Great Domains. It was passed at $10m in 1999, but that wasn't an election year. This is.
America.com as part of Obama's final month's integrated marketing knock-out punch says it all and would be the mother of all interactive achievements in the history of man.
The money is not the object here, because within 15 minutes of twittering his digital base, he'll have in his account whatever it takes to buy it.
All he'd have to do is change the tagline- Obama- not change we can believe in but an america we can believe in. Again.
There's no way McCain could leverage the domain in the same way.
Now would someone please tell Barack that.
OF: Here we are with the right domain at the right time and Great Domains has no clue that there is an election about to happen with a margin so close that only the digital savvy can decide it.
How about a landing page with American Flag, children, parks, sports, and soldier images taken by a real professional photographer. One who's exhibit alone would draw the big fish.
But that would cost money and why should we invest when we can do nothing and win if you do and see you next time if you don't.
This makes my blood boil.
Here is how they market a $12 million asset on which they will earn a hefty percent. For what? Suggesting that it's a nice domain and pizza.com sold for $2.6 million so this has to be worth more.
No wonder why we haven't sold anything as an industry.
If you gave your $12mm house to Sotheby's and this was their flyer how would you stand for it?
Sedo just needs to go back to what Great Domains did right when the time was wrong.
Dust off and throw those sandwich ads on and head to the Today Show, CNN, and where Obama's press and advisers are lunching, landing or speaking.
Talk about a once in a lifetime opportunity to get your WHOLE inventory validated on TV.
Hell, how dumb can they be at SEDO, they already own the costume, they had just shown up at the wrong party with the wrong domain.
Let's get back to the GREAT DOMAINS we used to know.

The only time SEDO will ever get thier act together is when they are bought out. 100% agree with this post.
