Mobi Squatter Indicts Himself and Threatens to Bring TLD Down With Him

What a moronic thing to do- to publicly offer Dairy Queen a chance to buy their trademark back in a press release and then blog about it as if it's proof positive of dotMOBI success. I'm afraid this is the one that WILL bring the TLD down. I've tried to keep this debate about technology, the market data and the facts and not personal attacks-- but I wonder if any of these guys even have a GED?

Owen--did you bother to read the first sentence where it says the domain name will be given to Dairy Queen? Given (not sold) being the key word. Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy.

Wow, what balls (dot com).

From what I gathered, they are offering the domain to Dairy Queen on the condition that Dairy Queen develops and promotes it. So yes, Dairy Queen would be required to spend money to own the name. Bad move on the owner's part. Not to mention that Dairy Queen owns DQ.com, so why would they want the .mobi anyways?

::Sigh:: Owen there's no need to mis-characterize me nor the .mobi extension.

In regard to your brilliant remark discrediting those who were not fortunate enough to receive a institutionalized education, or for some reason had to leave schooling in order to help provide for their families, I commend them. IMO it takes a certain degree of tenacity to create success out of nothing.

Today's dropouts are writing (and coding) the textbooks (and websites) of tomorrow.

Thanks for featuring my post and sharing your opinion.

The MOBI MOB is bringing the Internet down. 1) TLD should never have allowed the registration and 2) whether asking for money or not pubically making terms and conditions and falsely claiming that Al Reis condones this behavior is asking for a jail sentence. I hope CADNA is on this case and takes all your domains.

Squatters, thieves and hacks - the domain world is full of people who would just as soon steal your name and claim all rights to do so as they would heist a Blizzard and call it their own.

BTW, after reading FF, I secured chiefhomeofficer, jeffzbar and homeofficehighway.mobi. Don't know what the hell I'll do with them, but better than letting someone else decide for me...

@Patrick - LL.mobi's have not been released by mTLD and most likely wouldn't be available for resale if they ever are released.
