MC&A was a Frager Group partner and one of the the first clients when we formed the world's first virtual advertising agency 20 years ago. Our first project was a capabilities video when they were just getting started and now 20 years later, as Mary Charles sold the company she founded, it was time for an update that showcased a brand that could live on without her.
But in addition to the video, their website was difficult to use and not built on Web2.0 platforms that improve search results and also allow widgets, plug-ins, a user-friendly intuitive content management system, social media buttons and embedded video.
But it was the worst recession the Hawaii tourism industry had ever weathered. Said Mary: "This is as scary as it's ever been, and and it's going to get scarier." Many would have cut back. This is why it was a smart decision (as covered in numerous case studies) to invest in MARKETING with a capital "M."
We started by writing and producing a new corporate capabilities video while at the same time, stretching the budget to allow out takes that could be repurposed on the website for customer testimonials, executive bios and partner testimonials. This is a great video that we are very proud of.
Then we addressed the website issues with a WordPress (yes the WordPress you thought was just for blogging). It includes Flash, Video, Slide Modules showcasing MC&A's destination management services including theme parties, events, activities and more. Over 400 photos are hosted on the platform (I know because I captioned them all) playing through a plug-in viewer with a customized skin.
The videos are hosted on YouTube where we established an MC&A Channel with multiple search-centric domain names created and HAND REGISTERED by me (yes we do this all day long for clients in 2010!) redirected to it with extra search strength and sharing to multiple decision makers in corporations, partners, resellers and sales reps.
The projects were masterfully designed and executed with the contributions of the entire Frager Creative Team including Ken Norkin, Ottip Ramos, Ned White, Jorge Martinez and myself. Everything was rebuilt on sales-driven marketing- giving the MC&A sales team the tools and ammunition they need to succeed.
At 1/3 of the cost of big agency-built sites, we really showed off what WordPress is capable of.

When I clicked on the mcahawaii.com link, I got this message:

Just wanted you to know.
Thanks for letting me know, I thought they had fixed that because uit's a matter between their IT people and their ISP. This happens to me on GoToMeeting, JetBlue and other big sites, so most people know to trust them. But it can be fixed. It happens when people type in mcahawaii with no www. Just http://mcahawaii.
