Steve Cites "No Support for U.S. Proposal for Domain Name Veto"

Writing on the HardOCP blog Steve wonders, "how did we end up here? We looked like schmucks for demanding veto power over top-level domains and then ended up with egg on our faces having only the power to offer non binding advice on top-level domains."

"The Obama administration has failed in its bid to allow it and other governments to veto future top-level domain names, a proposal before ICANN that raised questions about balancing national sovereignty with the venerable Internet tradition of free expression." MORE from CNET
