Rick Schwartz: Multi-Million Dollar "Dream" Deal in The "Works"

A lot of guys like to point to Rick Schwartz and credit his success to luck. Nothing could be further from the case except in this case. See a network is picking up a TV series critics and focus groups have already acclaimed to be the biggest hit since Seinfeld. The name of the show is an exact match to a domain he owns with very little natural traffic or perceived applications previously. With a Estibot appraisal of just $3K, and offers I know of from past years that have been turned down in the mid-five figures, it should get very interesting as the Hollywood Studio's proxies fight to close a deal before word that the pilot has been green lighted hits the streets.

Yes, and the producers will save money and add hyphens or "Show" or some other word to a lame domain name that saves them the huge amount of money we know Rick will ask for his domain.

Trust me on this one. Production budgets are tight, and someone will simply say "who cares about the domain name? We can create our own and fans will remember it". Entertainment ideas, movies, tv shows, etc, are not expected to be long lasting, so expensive domains aren't in the picture. If Rick keeps the price under 10K, maybe.

Steve has left a new comment on your post "Rick Schwartz: Multi-Million Dollar "Dream" Deal i...":

Commander, Having the same letters of the alphabet is not as valuable when you have to put the hyphen in it.

I still wouldn't credit that to luck. Rick has that coveted crystal ball eye.

I'd call that luck only of you define luck as where preperation meets opportunity. Rick has a crystal ball..
