Hollywood Comes Out For Jobs Skills Site Empowered (.com)

"Consider that the Daily Mail has revealed that Google's biggest advertiser is the University of Phoenix spending nearly $200,000 every day. Eschewing such lifetime payments to Google, competitor Education Dynamics employs almost 4000 domains in their campaigns."


Recently we discussed the need for re-education names for a new industry that is cropping up from the urgent need to put Americans back to work and realign their skillets. Online education is hot and in the case of UCLA Extension's iPhone app launch, Sally Field, Pierce Brosnon, James Franco, George Lopez, Geena Davis, James Gandolfini, Rita Wilson, and Cuba Gooding, Jr. all come out to sing the praises of the brand in a new TV spot with the message and call-to-action "Empowered.com"

I always thought parked domains like unemployment.com would end up looking like this, but the backers of this site took the opposite approached from a branding stand point offering a benefit to the reader "empowerment" rather than reinforce their pain "hopelessness" visa-vie "unemployment.  

Until a year ago the domains was owned by  Thomas Frankenfield of  Magenic Technologies, then transferred to current owner  Encore Career Institute who owns 70 additional domains. Another one of those 6-7 figure sales we'll never hear about officially.
