Dropping In On Old Drops

How hard is it for any of us to part with a domain?

But eventually we give up which is crazy because we've done nothing to try to sell the domain other than throw it on Sedo.

So as they say one man's trash is another man's treasure.

Have you ever taken names you dropped and typed them in years later to see what they've become? Today I will drop in on my old drops.

Chances are no one else made the millions you thought you might miss by letting the name go.

But occasionally you type in a name and see the vision you had for it made real.

If the names are any good, after passing through multiple big dreamers they will end up in the big inventories of Worldwide Domains, NaMedia or Buy Domains.

Check out some of my drops each hand registered for $70 in 1999, dropped 2002 and now10 years later and $100 each saved on renewals, here's what they became:

WordPeople.com  (Gez I never thought of contacting literary agents)

JustPillows.com (I gave up on the name after being rejected by Pacific Feather)

LovingTouch.com  (I saw this as a sex toy shop or vibrator- bought by massage guy and in hindsight what a great brand it would have been for a franchise like  MassageEnvy)

IdeaEmporium.com (since I dropped it several others have tried and never passed parking)

BoysDepartment.com (since I dropped it several others have tried and never passed parking)

BigAmbitions.com (since I dropped l others have tried and never passed parking- now owned Buy Domains and listed for $20K on Sedo )

4LeggedFriends.com (I miss this one the most!)

MillionDollarview.com (now owned by Berkens)

Furnituredepartment.com (now owned by Berkens)

Privatelyheld.com (owned by Buy Domains and offered on Sedo for $6K)

LifetimeDream.com (owned by Buy Domains and offered on Sedo for $1600)

SimpleCyber.com (owned by Buy Domains and offered on Sedo for $1900)

GymBoys.com (Now owned by Schilling)

SuperSuppers.com (end user nice application)

YourThing.com (At Buy Domains for $4K)

SalesWizards.com (parked at Internet Traffic; owned by dreamwiz who seems to sell a lot lately)

SubjectLine.com (now with end user and great application)

TimeNmoney.com (now with end user and great application)

SuitsNties.com (now a blog)

ProsperityFarms.com  (saw it on a street sign and now with end user horse farm)
How hard is it for any of us to part with a domain? But eventually we give up which is crazy because we've done nothing to try to sell the domain other than throw it on Sedo.

btw, Judging by graphic design quality I'd say that with few exceptions none of these ended up at end users with deep pockets. Even of they got the maximum of $2800 onBuy Domains- I would have had $1100 in carrying costs for ten years on the ones that did sell, as well as the ones that didn't.
