|Frank Schilling's Secret Sauce|
Question is in ten years when domain .coms are so scarce, so rare and so expensive (6-fig min), will these big number DNS sales look like chump change?
Right now it looks like domains are coming into their prime, getting the attention and perception of importance that we've been waiting two decades for corporate America to grasp. G's may be driving the run on AAA dotCOMs. But when you painstakingly acquire a portfolio of cream based on research and a business plan with solid ROI and exit strategies as Name Administration did, there is no fantasy or waiting for any possibility of pigeon shit rising to the top.
G whiz these .guru's could be worth something. But G whiz, dotCOMs (and .Nets) like those sold this month already are a proven sure bet. For an example ShareGuard.com sold last week— what a great name for a software app! LongIslandIceTea.com for the new Snapple competitor! Or WritingQuotes.com giving a laid off NY Times writer a new lease on life on his own terms. The kind of names a branding agency would charge Microsoft, P&G or Cisco $1 million dollars or more to think up. The kind of names that change destinies and lives.
You want an appraisal on your domains? Compare to those examples. Ask yourself is this name I own capable or changing destinies and lives? A name that had the prospect gone to Landor would be worthy of their $1 million fee?
BTW, Prices and a twist on price reporting expected very soon and will update this list as soon as I receive the data dump.
