How Important Are Domains To Future Generations?

After gifting an exact match dot com of a client's daughter's name for her college graduation, the feedback from him was "Very nice.. she did not know what it meant.. so I explained it.. thanks.."

This from the CEO of a Fortune 500 corporation whose own name was readily available for hand reg in dotCOM last week, when I secured it in his behalf for a blog I am helping them with.

People outside the business don't even think about domains and some don't even know what they are. "Oh you mean a www" "Oh you mean an web address."

We're the only people in the world who use the words "domains"  to describe what end users call everything but: (like the prospect Google delivered me long tail searching for "catchy names for a cloud app."
